Mar Sleeva College of Nursing Palai is the first institution of the Palai Diocesan Medical Education Trust, established by Mar Joseph Kallarangatt, the Bishop of Palai in 2005. This College is affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur and recognized by Indian Nursing Council and Kerala Nurses and Midwives council.
Our vision is to provide holistic and personalized education and experience that will mould the students into physically fit, intellectually competent, psychologically resilient, morally upright, emotionally mature, socially committed, spiritually disciplined and compassionate nurses at the service of humanity.
The motto of our college is ‘Light, Life, and Service’. The call of the Nurses is to illumine the lives of the suffering and the weak by their service, like the founder of modern nursing Miss Florence Nightingale, the ‘Lady with the Lamp’. They take part in the healing ministry of Jesus Christ, the Good Samaritan and Light of the world, to give life to the sick and the needy.
Nursing education equips novice nurses to be knowledgeable, compassionate, creative, and enthusiastic, which enables them to provide comprehensive and quality care to people in need.
Our college offers training in nursing through Basic BSc nursing, Post Basic BSc Nursing and MSc nursing programmes. We have dedicated and excellent teaching and non-teaching staff, who are committed to the holistic formation of students and maintain the nobility of the nursing profession. Our library with large number of volumes and well-equipped laboratories provide enormous facilities for students to practice their profession.
Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai, our parent hospital is a 650 bedded world-class super-speciality tertiary level hospital that provides affordable care for people of all classes. Our students are getting plenty of opportunities to provide sophisticated care for patients using advanced technologies and equipment.
